- The (Modified) Kadish Staging system is a diagnostic staging system used for esthesioneuroblastoma, also known as olfactory neuroblastoma.
- A – tumour is limited to the nasal cavity
- B – tumour involves nasal cavity + paranasal sinuses
- C – tumour extends beyond paranasal sinuses (eg. involving cribriform, skull base, orbit, intracranial cavity).
- D – neck or distant metastases.
- In combination with the Hyam’s Grading System, this is used to prognosticate and guide treatment decisions in patients with olfactory neuroblastomas.
- Kadish’s initial staging system initially only included type A, B, and C. Type D (the presence or neck or distant metastasis) was added by Morita et al. This modified staging system is sometimes called the Modified Kadish Staging System
