Homer-Wright Pseudorosettes
- Homer-Wright Pseudorosettes and Flexner-Wintersteiner Rosettes are findings that are seen in olfactory neuroblastomas (esthesioneuroblastomas), and in some other tumours.
- They are a component of the Hyam’s Grading System for olfactory neuroblastomas.
- Homer-Wright Pseudorosettes can be seen in Hyams Grade I/II esthesioneuroblastoma, and are structures with a eosinophilic centre surrounded by cells but without a true lumen.
- These differ from Flexner-Wintersteiner Rosettes, which are true rosettes (with a central lumen) surrounded by columnar cells. Flexner-Wintersteiner Rosettes are specific to Hyams Grade III esthesioneuroblastoma.
